Small Business Deal Advisors, LLC (SBDA) is pleased to announce the successful acquisition of EMS Grand Rapids by an individual investor, Brent Pelishek.

EMS (Electric Motor Service) Grand Rapids is an EASA service center with wide-ranging electromechanical capabilities. EMS has a rich legacy providing electromechanical expertise dating back to its founding in 1929. The company delivers complete electric motor service with the latest in motor repair and testing technologies. EMS also distributes a variety of electric motor brands for various applications.

Trent Bremer led EMS as president since 2016 when he and three partners purchased the business. Ready to pursue other opportunities, Trent engaged with Small Business Deal Advisors to assist in the sale of EMS.

“We are very pleased with the outcome of this transaction,” said Trent Bremer. “SBDA did an exceptional job of finding the right partner to continue the company’s success and growth.”

The buyer, Brent Pelishek, is an individual investor who comes from an automotive technology background.

SBDA served as an M&A advisor to EMS Grand Rapids. This included providing advisory expertise and managing the preparatory, marketing, due diligence, and negotiation phases of the transaction.

Associate Rick Purcey, who served as lead advisor on the transaction, added, “EMS has built a leading brand with diverse electromechanical capabilities. It was a pleasure working with Trent and the EMS team on this transaction. The Covid-19 pandemic certainly added a twist but we were able to navigate our way across the finish line.”

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Chemical Bank provided SBA financing.
