Michiana Tree Works is a commercial and residential tree service company headquartered in Middlebury, IN. Founded in 2004, the Company serves a loyal customer base in Northern Indiana and Southwestern Michigan with numerous tree services including trimming, grinding, and stump removal. Michiana Tree Works has invested heavily in buying and upgrading its equipment base, which is significantly more robust than most operators in this space. The Company has developed into a reputable and highly dependable provider of tree services.
K2B Tree Service is an affiliate of CJI Restoration, a Brownsburg, IN-based exterior restoration company that focuses on excavating, matting, right-of-way projects, wetland restoration, hazardous waste cleanup, environmental remediation, and concrete installation and repairs. President of CGI Restoration, Brad Baron, viewed Michiana Tree Works as a solid opportunity to expand its service offering and geographic coverage. “The addition of Michiana Tree Works will round out our ability to offer the fullest level of service to our customers,” noted Brad Baron. “Additionally, we are excited about the customer base that Brent has grown and the outstanding reputation of his company.” The combined companies will provide complete outdoor restoration and landscaping services to customers throughout Indiana.
The sellers, Brent and Regina Miller, decided to sell Michiana Tree Works in order to focus on their other business interests. According to Brent Miller, “We have had an amazing experience founding and growing Michiana. In so many ways, it has been an absolutely fulfilling experience. We felt that we had grown the business to the best of our ability and that its future success would better be placed in the hands of a larger company. We are thrilled that K2B and Brad have purchased the business. SBDA advised the shareholders of Michiana Tree Works on the sale through the development of marketing materials, comprehensive marketing of the acquisition opportunity, and consulting through the negotiation, due diligence, and closing periods. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
