Grand Rapids, MI-based Small Business Deal Advisors (“SBDA”) is pleased to announce the successful sale of Gary Ulman Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning of East Tawas, MI, to an individual investor.
Gary Ulman Plumbing is a family-owned and operated plumbing and HVAC services company serving its small but loyal community since 1975. For over four and a half decades, Gary Ulman Plumbing has consistently delivered quality products and services to customers at reasonable prices.
Founder/Owner Gary Ulman retired from the Company twelve years ago, transferring the management of day-to-day operations to his daughter, Susan Wainwright. Ms. Wainwright is now ready to retire, travel, and spend time with her grandchildren.
Gary Ulman Plumbing engaged Small Business Deal Advisors to find a successor who can maintain the ethical and quality standards that Tawas City residents have come to rely on.

Gary Ulman Plumbing was acquired by Heath Pyles, a U.S. military veteran and long-time expert in the plumbing field. Originally from the Western United States, Heath has been living in Nevada working at large construction sites. “I was immediately intrigued by this opportunity,” commented Heath. “My family has taken Michigan vacations for years, and I’ve always wanted to relocate to the beautiful Mitten state. We’ve been looking for a change of scenery, and this company was the ideal fit. Gary and Susan built a great company with a solid reputation, and I’m excited to continue the name.”

Small Business Deal Advisors advised Gary Ulman Plumbing on the sale through the development of marketing materials, comprehensive marketing of the acquisition opportunity, and consulting through the negotiation, due diligence, and closing periods. The transaction was managed by SBDA Associate, Scott Nicholson.
